When launching rust with cheats, I keep getting disconnected from any server with the error EAC: Forbidden driver: cacormem.sys . How do I fix?

To address this issue, you can temporarily disable the associated service using the Command Prompt.

 

Temporary Solution: Disabling the Conflicting Service

 

To temporarily resolve the conflict and allow you to join a server, please follow these steps:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator:

    • Search for "Command Prompt" in your Windows search bar.

    • Right-click on the result and select "Run as administrator."

  2. Stop the Service:

    • In the elevated Command Prompt window, execute the following command: 

      sc stop caccormem

    • Note: This action will temporarily stop the service associated with the cacormem.sys driver.

  3. Launch Rust:

    • Attempt to launch the game and join a server now that the service has been temporarily disabled.

 Re-Enabling the Service (When Finished Playing)

 

Once you are done playing Rust and wish to restore the original service state, execute the following command in a Command Prompt window run as administrator: 

sc start caccormem
