My game will not start unless Secure Boot is on, but the setup needs it off

You bought a cheat for Black Ops 7 or Warzone and now you are caught between two rules. The game refuses to launch unless Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are switched on in your BIOS. The product setup tells you to switch Secure Boot off before you inject. Turn it off and the game will not start. Leave it on and you get a driver signature error, a Secure Boot violation screen after the restart, or a machine that drops straight back into BIOS. This page sets out what we can confirm.

Why this happens

Two separate checks are in play and only one of them is ours. Call of Duty runs its own security check on Black Ops 7 that expects TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to be enabled before the game will launch normally. Separately, our support team treat Secure Boot disabled as a required BIOS step for several products, and they identify the signature errors and Secure Boot violation screens people report as Secure Boot still being on. Our published documentation does not explain how the two interact and gives no workaround, so that is as far as we will go.

How to fix it

There is no documented setting that satisfies both requirements at once. Work through the following before you change anything else.

1. Confirm where you actually stand. Search for System Information in Windows and read the Secure Boot State line, which shows On or Off.
2. Open your product's guide on the guides page and read its BIOS section. The steps are not identical across products, so use the guide for the exact product you own.
3. Ask support for specifics rather than guessing. Support escalate this particular conflict to a human, so raise it in live chat, ask for a human, and give them your game and product.
4. If your drive is encrypted, have your BitLocker recovery key to hand first. Support have seen a Secure Boot change send a machine to the BitLocker recovery screen.
5. If you have already changed Secure Boot and the loader now crashes, confirm your Windows installation still boots in UEFI mode. Disable Fast Startup, then perform a complete shutdown and restart.
6. To disable Fast Boot, open your BIOS or UEFI settings during startup, find Fast Boot under Boot or Advanced, set it to Disabled, then save and exit. Windows Fast Startup is a separate setting under Control Panel, then Power Options, then Choose what the power buttons do.
7. If it is still broken, contact support with your motherboard, CPU, Windows version and the exact error text.

Which products this applies to

The clash is reported on the Black Ops 7 and Warzone products: Frost, Frost LITE and Armani. The same Secure Boot disabled step is asked for on the Rainbow Six Siege products, Frost, Frost Pro and Inferno, where support also ask for Virtualization to be disabled in BIOS under CPU Features or CPU Configuration. Requirements are set per product, so treat your own guide as the authority and check the status board before you buy.
