Wardogs runs Elytra, a kernel-level anti-cheat, and the developers talk it up. So on our Tezzer channel we tried to get banned on purpose: Frost for Wardogs at its most obvious settings, a brand new account, official servers and a stopwatch. One hour later the account had about a million coins, level 11, a string of server bans and no game ban. That is the result. Here is what it does and does not tell you.
What Wardogs actually uses
The Steam listing names Elytra as the anti-cheat, and it runs at kernel level, loading before the game and staying resident while you play. If Elytra is broken or half installed, Wardogs simply will not start.
That class of anti-cheat is good at one thing: recognising software it already knows. A known loader. A known driver. A known signature in memory. What it is much worse at is judging behaviour, whether a player is simply too good to be human. Keep that split in mind for everything below.
The config: everything a detection system should notice
The goal was the fastest ban possible, so every setting went the wrong way on purpose:
- Aimbot on mouse 2, with its field of view at the 200px maximum, so it grabs targets anywhere near the crosshair.
- Aim speed at maximum. No smoothing, instant snaps.
- Maximum target distance at maximum.
- Visibility filter off, so it fires at players behind cover.
- Magic bullet on.
- Every weapon modifier on: no recoil, no spread, no sway.
- The game camera pushed to a 160 degree field of view, with zoom bound to C.

Visuals stayed close to default. The server was an official Wardogs server, not a community one, and the account was new enough that the only guns available were the starters.
The hour
| Time | What happened |
|---|---|
| 0:00 | Timer starts on an official server, starter weapons only. |
| Under 1 min | About 30 seconds of kills unlocks the AK. |
| About 6 min | Already doing things any behaviour check should catch. Nothing from the anti-cheat. |
| About 13 min | New server, 240,000 coins. |
| 20 min | 404,000 coins and a Galil unlocked. Still no ban. |
| Mid run | Half a million, level 11. Banned from server after server, but no game ban. |
| 35 min | A full map wipe pays about 100,000 coins in 30 seconds. |
| 42 min | The fastest win of the session, then a teammate drives while he shoots from the vehicle. |
| 47 min | Into a match with no cheat running and Elytra loaded, then Frost injected mid-match and the rage config loaded. |
| About 55 min | One million coins. |
| End | One last game. No game ban. |
The stopwatch was on screen the whole time, from 00:00:00 through 47:43 just before the injection. Single kill bursts on screen paid as much as 43,765 coins.
The server bans were the real enforcement
The part of this test that should worry a rage cheater is not the anti-cheat. It is the lobbies. Halfway through, Tezzer summed it up: all he was getting was server bans. Players noticed, and he was banned from one server after another.
His line on camera was that the only anti-cheat Wardogs seemed to have was the players. That is his read from one hour, not ours as a fact. But it matches what you would expect when a whole team dies through a wall in the first minute: somebody reports you.
Server bans cost you more than pride. Every one is a new lobby, a fresh spawn and lost farming time. And a reported account is one with more eyes on it, even if nothing happens that day.
The mid-game injection
A common worry is loading a cheat after the anti-cheat is already running. At 47 minutes the test did exactly that: game open, Elytra loaded, no cheat, then Frost injected mid-match and the config loaded from the menu. It kept working, and no ban came in the time left on the clock.
One injection, on one day, is one data point. It is useful, and it is not a rule.
Why one clean hour proves less than it looks
The video ends with the line that it is clearly impossible to get banned in Wardogs even while rage cheating. We do not say that, and you should not believe it from anyone. The test showed that one account was not banned during one hour. That is all it showed.
- Bans are often delayed. Many anti-cheats record what they see and ban later in waves, days or weeks after the fact. A clean hour on camera says nothing about a wave next month.
- Versions change. This was one version of Wardogs and one version of Frost. A game patch or an Elytra update can change the answer overnight.
- Reports stack up. Behaviour this obvious gets reported constantly, and a game can act on reports without the anti-cheat ever flagging the software.
Worth being plain about: this is a test of our own product, run on our own channel. Read it with that in mind. The only current answer to "is it safe right now" is the live Frost status, which changes when Wardogs or Elytra update.
If you want to keep the account
Do the opposite of this test. ESP reads as human because nothing about your aim changes. If you add aim help, keep the field of view small, the speed low and the visibility filter on. And do not rage on official servers on an account you care about.
The full version of that advice is in Wardogs cheats and ban risk and the Wardogs ESP guide. Frost and Hydra both sit on the Wardogs cheats hub, each with a live status you can check before you load in.
Wardogs anti-cheat questions
Does Wardogs have an anti-cheat?
Yes. Wardogs uses Elytra, a kernel-level anti-cheat named on its Steam listing. The game will not launch without it.
Can you get banned for cheating in Wardogs?
Assume yes. In our hour-long rage test the account was not banned, but it was thrown off server after server, and anti-cheats often ban in delayed waves. A test proves what happened in that window, nothing more.
Is it safer to inject the cheat before or after launching Wardogs?
Follow the loader instructions for the current version. In our test, injecting mid-match with Elytra already running worked without a ban in the minutes that followed, but that is one data point.
What gets you caught fastest in Wardogs?
Other players. In this test the visible enforcement was human: reports and server bans, triggered by kills no person could make.
Prefer to watch: the full Wardogs ban speedrun is on our Tezzer channel.
