Legit cheating
Also called: closet cheating, legit config
Legit cheating means running a cheat with its settings tuned low enough that your gameplay still looks human. It is also called closet cheating, and the setting files players share for it are called legit configs. Instead of snapping to every head across the map, you use small assists that help you win fights you were already close to winning.
For you, the point is consistency without the spectacle. Your clips look like a good day rather than a highlight reel of impossible flicks. The aim is to give the players in your lobby nothing worth reporting, and a boring killcam is how you do it.
How it actually plays
Legit cheating is a set of choices, not one toggle. You keep the aimbot quiet and let your own aim do most of the work. Arctic's own guidance is to set aim smoothing to 5 or higher. At that level the aim moves like a hand instead of snapping like a machine. A tight aim FOV keeps the assist from grabbing targets you were never looking at. A visibility check stops the aimbot targeting enemies through walls, which keeps killcams clean.
Many legit players go further. They run ESP only, with no aim assistance at all. That is the lowest risk setup there is. You still read the fight before it starts, but every shot is genuinely yours. The opposite approach is rage cheating, where everything is turned up and nobody is fooled.
What a legit config does not fix
A legit config changes how you look to other players. Assume it does nothing for the anti-cheat running in software. Treat those as two separate problems and plan for both. For the current picture on any product, check the live board at /status rather than trusting a forum post.
Account history counts too. A brand new account posting pro level numbers draws far more attention than an aged one. Levelling an account before you turn aim features on costs nothing but patience. Play a normal number of hours, lose some fights, and let the account look lived in.
If the machine is already flagged
A careful config will not help a PC carrying a HWID ban. You need a clean account on a clean machine. TRACE 2.0 is session based, covers Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye titles, and is the safe first purchase if you have never spoofed before. It does not cover Ricochet or Vanguard, so for BO7, Warzone or Valorant you need the firmware level spoofing in VERSE. Neither one unbans your old account or removes the ban record. They give a clean account a clean machine, and your legit config is what keeps it quiet.
