Retarget delay
Also called: retarget time, detach time, detach delay
Retarget delay is the pause your aimbot waits before it locks on to a new enemy after letting go of the last one. Not every menu uses the same name for it. When your target dies, breaks line of sight, or leaves your aim area, the aimbot detaches and a timer starts. Only when that timer runs out can it take a new target.
The point is to stop instant chain locks. A real player needs a moment to spot the next threat and swing across to it. Without that gap, every kill in a multi kill lands with the same inhuman timing. Retarget delay puts that hesitation back into the sequence, so a triple kill reads as three decisions rather than one script.
Retarget delay controls the gap between one lock ending and the next one starting. It is a timing setting, not an accuracy setting. It changes how you look, not how well you hit.
How it behaves in a fight
Your aimbot holds a target for as long as that target stays valid. Valid normally means alive, inside your aim FOV, and passing the visibility check. When one of those stops being true, the lock drops and the delay timer starts. Until it clears, the aimbot does nothing, even if a second enemy is standing in your crosshair. You are aiming on your own for that stretch. In a squad wipe, that is the difference between three separate fights and one long mechanical sweep.
Why it matters for staying quiet
Instant retargeting is one of the easiest tells to spot on video. Two kills a fraction of a second apart, with no travel and no hesitation, read as software to anyone watching the clip. A delay breaks that rhythm. Pair it with the other settings that make your aim look human. Arctic's own guidance puts aim smoothing at 5 or higher, so the aim moves like a hand instead of snapping like a machine. A visibility check keeps you off enemies behind walls, which keeps killcams clean. None of this makes a cheat safe, and no setting can promise that.
Picking a value
Legit players want a delay long enough to pass as a real reaction. Rage setups often cut it to nothing, because clearing a lobby matters more than appearances there. Start long and shorten it only if you keep dying in the gap between kills. Keep in mind that a brand new account posting pro level numbers draws far more attention than an aged one, whatever your settings say. Levelling first costs nothing but patience. If you would rather not manage aim timing at all, ESP only, with no aim assistance at all, is the lowest risk setup there is.
